Pineapple pomace laddu prepared by AFACI-APPT Bangladesh farmers group

Agriculture correspondent:Postharvest Technology Division (PHTD) of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI), Gazipur, organized the day long impact training on ” processing and preparation of pineapple pomace laddu, pineapple jam and jelly” to the Farmers Group of 2 at Idilpur, Kakraid, Modhopur, Tangail on September 18, 2021 under the project ‘Agricultural Products Processing Technology Development (APPT)’ in Bangladesh funded by ‘Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI), Rural Development Administration (RDA)’ Korea. The program has been organized aimed to get imact from the farmers-are they capable to process their fresh firm pineapple to meet their family nutritional requirement and generating income by the technological assistance of the project. A total of 30 farmers including unemployment women and youth were imparted in the impact training on pineapple natural jam, pineapple natural jelly and pineapple pomace ball (laddu) processing. The principal investigator of the AFACI-APPT, Bangladesh delivered his valuable speech on the purpose and objective of the impact training. The PI of this project express his satisfaction on this farmers group having their skillness to process the pineapple at farm level and increasing their income by the AFACI-APPT, Bangladesh. Md. Hafizul Haque Khan, Chief Scientific Officer (CC) and Head of the Postharvest Technology Division of BARI, Gazipur-1701, Bangladesh was present in the impact training of this group.
